Pinterest isn’t just a place for recipes or DIY crafts—it’s a powerful search engine and marketing tool for photographers. Pinterest offers a visual-first platform that’s tailor-made for showcasing your photography, attracting dream clients, and driving traffic back to your website. Think of Pinterest as a visual search engine Pinterest works more like Google than Instagram. When people search for ideas like “outdoor engagement shoot” or “newborn photo ideas,” Pinterest shows them curated results based on keywords and visuals. Previous | Contents | Next Download the eBook I would not sabotage my long-term business in order to survive a panic attack or a short-term crisis. Panic attacks — we all have them “My bookings are down.” “I’ve gotta cut my prices.” “I’ve gotta slash my costs.” We all have anxiety attacks, so maybe this chapter’s for you. Anxiety is worrying in advance, worrying without a plan, psychological rather than rational. And the actions you take while you’ve got the cold sweats could affect your business for a long, long To View More >>
The following are our end of year deadlines, designed to ensure that you'll receive your orders in time for Christmas, and with low stress. They're important because our order volumes increase by 2-3 times over the holiday period and we want to be certain we can meet your delivery requirements. I'm going to be a bit pushy here. Our series on selling albums talks about: — setting expectations — making it clear you sell them, and why! — making it easy for your clients to buy — not coming across as "pushy or sales-y" etc. I think that's good, sensible stuff — I helped write them, so there's that! — but let's face it, they lack something: ambition. Sales-ambitious or sales-shy? Portrait and wedding photographers come in all shapes and sizes, attitudes and ambitions, but one of the most important things that define them is surely their attitude to To View More >>
Whether you’re just getting started with Queensberry, or you've been with us a while and want to revamp your product offering, we know it can all seem a bit daunting. Especially for newbies there's a lot to learn — new ordering systems, new terminology, different page types, optional extras etc. Don't worry, we're here to help, and it's not that hard really! One of the few good things to come out of 2020 is that we're now all used to Zoom calls, and you can now pre-book these with us at a time to suit you. A one-on-one "face-to-face" session is a great way to get you sorted. To View More >>
How to talk about products? In a nutshell, in your own voice, with conviction! Let's start by saying there are three aspects to this: Talking about products. Sharing about products. Believing in products. Talking about products We'll be brief because we've covered this in a separate article, about how to sell more without being "pushy" or "sales-y". Photographers who love selling probably don't need our help, so it's addressed mainly to those who're shy about it — which is possibly most of us. In that article we discuss how to build "talking about products" into To View More >>

Updated 18 October 2020 "Happy Holidays!" – They'll be on us faster than we think, and your clients will definitely want their books, boxes, albums, frames, canvases and prints in good time. "Go to the front of the line!" — that's what we recommend every year. Our orders go up 3-400% before Christmas, and, since most of what we do is handmade to order, we publish these guidelines in the interests of a low-stress lead-up to the holidays. Don't worry though — these are guidelines, not deadlines. We generally get orders out that we receive way To View More >>

Categories are a great way to divide images in a Gallery into separate sub-groups. For a wedding, for example, you might have categories called Getting Ready, Ceremony, Reception and so on. That means your clients can jump to the Ceremony images, for example, without having to scroll through hundreds of other photos. You can now upload directly into Categories using the Workspace uploader. Here’s how to create a new Category, and upload directly into a Category using the Workspace uploader. 1. If you heven't logged into Workspace for a while you may be surprised next time by a very different looking platform. That’s because our December upgrade has now been rolled out. Here's what we've done. Interface upgrade (updated, simpler, more intuitive) Although much of what we've done in this upgrade is "behind the scenes", we’ve also worked hard on the user interface.
